Texas History Review Time - do you remember the six flags over Texas - okay not the one in Arlington. Here is your refresher. The flags of six nations have flown over Texas. They are:
Spain (1519-1685; 1690-1821)
France (1685-1690)
Mexico (1821-1836)
Republic of Texas (1836-1845)
Confederate States of America (1861-1865)
United States of America (1845-1861; 1865- )
Over the years, there has been some debate over exactly which flags should be used as the official Six Flags of Texas. While the flag designs of the United States, Texas and Mexico are well established, there has been some variation in the selection of the Spanish, French, and Confederate flag designs.
