Mother's Day

Here is the Mother's Day Card I made for my mother - yes, this morning. I don't like it, colors are wrong and just not sure what to do about it. Will see what I can do later. The images are not straight but swear the ruler said it was. Need another ruler - uh?

Cardstock is SU bashful blue, pomegrante, not quiet navy.
Stamp set is SU Just bloomin
Word is printed on computer on white cardstock and the font is LanieDaySH
Corner Punch is EKSuccess (old, think it is wrought iron)
Vellum
Side punch is new from Martha Stewart - bought yesterday so had to try it,
Pastels are SU and Dove blender pen
Image stamped with versamark and silver embossing power.

Inside left:
A Mother's love is something that no on can explain, It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain, It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . . It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . . It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns, And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . . It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation, And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . . A many splendoured miracle man cannot understand And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand. ~ Helen Steiner Rice A Mother’s Love

Right side
And so our mothers and grandmothers have, more often than not anonymously, handed on the creative spark, the seed of the flower they themselves never hoped to see: or like a sealed letter they could not plainly read. ~ Alice Walker In Search of Our Mothers' Gardens (p. 240)
