Kids and Culture

Let me see if I can explain this one. During Spring Break I had my nephews for a couple of days. Tthe youngest nephew and I went to a friend's house that I was cat sitting for and she had wooden shoes hung on the wall with many other beautiful Asian decorations, clothing, tapestries, etc. I believe she told me that her Mom was Japanese (please forgive me if I am wrong). My nephew admired these and then we went to my parents and in my father's workshop, he made some wooden shoes. They were well designed but so load. The librarian in me wanted to make this a school lesson (geography, history, etc.) but I resisted.
